What are some good metal bands that you guys listen to? Mine are
Slipknot
Hatebreed
Sepultura
Pantera/Damage Plan
Chimaira
Korn - hard rock

I said Metal so none of that sorry old rock but feel free to mention some Hard Rock bands such as Korn and whatnot.
 
Any site that I can preview these bands? There was this one site with all these bubbles of band names but I forgot what it was called. It was like an Amazon based site.
 
I've recently discovered the new Spineshank CD. Excellent stuff. I'm always on the search for some new hard rock/metal music.
 
You can find a few clips of Children of bodom here.

The Sinergy website has been down for quite a while, it's kind of an 80's style thrashy metal but full of melodies EVERYWHERE. (female vocalist too) Same guitar player from Children of Bodom. Can't say for sure where to find samples since the site is down.

For Nightwish go here. They have a nice site. Should find alot of samples. They also have a female vocalist. Some songs aren't quite as metal as the others.. gotta listen to a few of them. If you can find "Crownless" I recemend it.

Norther samples can be found here. Excellent band

Kalmah samples can be found here. Excellent band, somewhat in the same vein as Children of Bodom.

Oh, I recemend Insomnium too. They are from Sweeden I believe... Very melodic stuff.

There are quite a bit of bands that sound like Kalmah and such which Im not really into. I like metal that has more Bass input and nice drum beats not just constant banging or speedy melodies. I like deep and dark riffs with a bit of freakiness. Surprisingly Evanescence has a few songs that give me that darkness I go for.

And what do you listen to? The new Slipknot IS their best album. It sucked when I first heard it but after listening to it the second time I thought it was great.

Hmm... Have a few to mention, some of the the other bands I like have already been listed, but... From Autumn to Ashes, Atreyu, and Lamb of God are all good bands.
 
You should buy the album for $10 at Best Buy! It is so worth it. I like bands that sound similar to Slipknot, not those "deepthroat" bands even though the sounds of the instruments and electronics sometimes give me that ecstatic dose of darkness I so love.
 
megadeth, metallica, in flames, dimmu borgir, and lately not really metal but good music disturbed

in flames - bullet ride, pinball map. the hive, surbaban me

and cant forget white zombie - electric head part ii, thuderkiss 65 and black sunshine

and a GREAT HEAVY SONG TO GET YOU PUMPED...FEED THE GODS from white zombie..its INSANE

and look at RAMMSTEIN - DU RIECHST SO GUT and if you can fidn the KMFDM REMIX...sick song
 
Although Slipknot has often referred to Satan/666 I totally dislike Satanic bands like Cradle of Filth because of course I love God but if the sound is just amazing and gets me off good then I'll listen to it as long as I God doesnt get bashed too much.

I recommend Zao, Emperor, From Autumn to Ashes, Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Opeth, In Flames, Dark Tranquility, Dream Theater, Testament, Meshuggah, Strapping Young Lad, Shadows Fall, Nile, Extol, Kalmah and behemoth for true metal fans.

FATA and Atreyu are definitely not metal. Some people around here refer to them as "emocore", but I really don't have any idea if that is a genre or if it is accurate. As for Lamb of God, I've never heard of 'em.

EDIT: Well I guess some people think of them as metal. But traditionally when I think of metal, I do not think of Take Her to the Music Store

BTW, along FATA and Atreyu, I'd also recommend Thrice, A Static Lullaby, and Silverstein.
