Im still waiting for the 8k7a and a7m in the mail but am having second thoughts. With so many prolems between the 2 i am unsure if i want them. I just need something that will detect my 1.4ghz cpu out of the box and doesnt require tweaking or for me to screw with thing to get it to work. I want it out of the box ready and will give me the least hassles. I have to use this for Graphic Design at Drexal and i will use it for gaming so i cant have it crashing on me and have things not working. Performance also has to factor in as i will be using heavy Graphix engines such as 3d Max and Rhino and might be upgrading as the year goes on with cpu,gfx card, mem so i may keep my school work at top notch performance(design wise). I know questions like these get tiring but im seriously in a bind here and need the computer ready by Sept22. Actually i already talked to a professor of the coarse and he recommended the new Radeon and Palamino chip (cant believe it)!! Money is no issue so just keep in mind these things. Performance, stability, upgradability, easy to use.
I WONT BE OCING SO I DONT NEED ITS FEATURES!!!
Thanx for reading and for all who reply

The A7M will be just fine. I am not sure if it will be ready "out of the box". That will depend on the BIOS it ships with. You may have to update that to have it recognize your 1.4 chip. If you want something positively ready out of the box then maybe you'd better buy a Dell.;)J/K. Other than that it should run like a champ for you. It is one of the most stable boards out there. 99% of all boards will need some general setup and tuning to get things just right for your needs. The default settings that they ship with are generally ultra conservative and can hold back the performance. I read a review/test between the top gaming builders Falcon Northwest, Alienware and Voodoo systems, in the recent past, and they all used this board; obviously this was not because it overclocks well; because it really doesn't. I think they had performance and stability in mind. So, I don't think you will have any problems performance-wise. It can "run with the best" and stay solid as a rock. BTW, the test was in the May issue of Maximum PC mag.
