Good match for a 1055t CPU and 1600 x 1200 max resolution

Building a rig for the kids... Want best performance for subject specs but not overachieve so we save some $...

Recommendations?

Both should be pretty good matches for the cpu you got going there. Personally I'd go with a 7850
However, if you really want to pinch pennies check this one out

The amd 6850. Will run a little warmer but give a little more performance than the 7770 if you're in the $120ish bracket

a X6 1055t is quite capable. with a bit of overclocking you can drive a HD 7870 Tahiti LE or HD 7950 boost. so whats your budget. also what psu do you have ?

Well, the better question is, what do you want to play? If all the games are like League of Legends or Starcraft 2, a $100 650Ti will get you there.

Budget is unlimited, but want to build this one on the cheap... Just want something that keeps up with 1055t at 1600 x 1200...

PSU is what's in my sig... That machine has been dormat for about 3 years...

A PC Power Cooling PSU is a *real* 510 watts... Should be enough or do I need more...?

So, what games? How old are the kids?

7850 2gb is a safe bet, but with OC you'd get stable frames most of the time even with a 7950.

Exactly what is the PSU model? How many amps on the +12V?

I'll assume worst case game at 1600 x 1200 - We'll be doing mostly flight sims which tax both CPU and GPU to the max - more than any FPS.

I have my old AMD Thunderbird 1.2ghz downstairs, still running. Coupled with a Geforce3 Ti 500. 512mb DDR266 baby, win2k aww yea
Sometimes I sit down at it and play Unreal Tournament 1 :twisted:
