Just watched a 17 year old drive away in my 420rwhp Trans Am. Sure as hell hope he's more mature than I was at his age. Would have killed myself without a doubt. His dad came along, so guess he's cool with it and believes he can handle it at least.

Glad I was able to sell my cars though. Saying goodbye to CA in just over 2 weeks.

Car trailer.

I'm just attached to my fbody, it would have to come with me somehow.

I feel ya, I'm just ready for something new. Been driving ls1 f bodies for 10 years, just sold my z28 a couple weeks ago too. Want to get into a C6 z06 once I buy a house and get situated.

You should have gotten an email address or cell phone number. That way, in 6 months or so, you could contact him and say 'hey, I just found another set of keys / repair manual / item that goes with the car' and ask about sending it to him. Then you'd either get a welcome reply saying that he'd like the item or a story (and maybe even pics) about what has happened to the car in the last few months.

Scary. That's alot of juice for a noob. Sold an yammy R1 to a brand new rider a couple months ago......after I told her repeatedly it isn't a good bike to start on.

Can't fix stupid.

BTW congrats on the new gig

Honestly, I think I am ready to sell my WS6. I have Corvette fever.

Before I first got it, I sent the PO (before the guy I bought it from) a note asking him some questions about the car. He answered them, and then said he missed the car and to let him know if I decided to sell it. He would consider buying it back.

I'm sort of a believer that novice drivers should have horsepower limits. Giving a teenage boy who just started driving anything with a bigger engine than a Honda Civic is just asking for trouble.

I'd go further and say giving a teenager an engine of any kind is just asking for trouble.

I will be sad when the time comes to sell my Mustang....but only until I get into my new Shelby. So, about 13 seconds :)

Gonna wrap that around a tree in no time. Some kid bought my old m3, ended up putting into a ditch (in the middle of winter, still riding with the star specs)

That's exactly my belief also and why my 16 year old son is getting a ford fiesta.

I actually started a thread in the discussion forum about this not long ago. I also agree there should be HP limits on new drivers.

When i was 17 I was given a 1994 mustang gt bone stock, just enough power to have some fun, but not enough to disintegrate on impact lol. I would never let a teen drive my current car, 04 blown mach 1. Sometimes it's even too much for me

I'd say if it forces you into the seat in 2nd gear then it shouldn't be driven by a novice. Almost bought a '97 BMW 323ti Compact as a first car. I'm sure my insurance would be sky high right now if I did... :whiste:

My cousin wrapped his day-old Mustang GT (fox body, circa 1985) around a tree. He hadn't even taken the time to get it insured. He inherited some money on his 18th birthday and promptly took a trip to the Ford dealer...thank God he was ok.

Hope your T/A survives :)

That is insane.
I had sub 100 horsepower when I started driving at 17.
Even to this day the most HP I have had in a car is around 260. My current just shy of 200.

Sounds like a fun car, almost sloppy fun. I would have to have another car that was a bit more balanced.
