GOOD LORD - IBM builds 110Ghz chip!

1) Current production units only at 80Ghz
2) They haven't said what the chip actually is, they said Microchip in the title of the article and aren't any clearer in the body therefore it could be a simple AND gate IC (with like 6 transistors) and fit the description.

it says is uses less power then normal chips. It also sounds like it won't outperform a normal cpu, it may be fast, but not complicated, especially given the area that the chips are made for.

Sigh..........I already got a TerraHertz Chip, along with DDR Ram in the Gigahrtz, and a Hard Drive in the Picobytes!

Oh yeah, and my video card has a gogglaplex of RAM.

And i've got a 3' dong

In a previous article I read, they mentioned using this for Fiber Optic lines. I belive this is a chip for use in a repeater, which is why it needs the high ghz rate.

Now read the whole article and notice these two lines:

"IBM's current fastest version of the silicon germanium chip runs at about 80 gigahertz. "

"IBM said it expects its 110 gigahertz chip to be available by the end of
the year."
