I'm a divorced single mother.

The card says "for someone who is both mother and father". Um, my kids do have a father. He's not Mr. Father-of-the-Year, unless the year is the inquisition, but he exists and it matters.

Anybody ever heard of this????

I guess I can see the point, but yeah, it's still a little strange IMO.

It's pretty common for father's day cards to be given to single mothers.

Just curious where you live - obviously, I'd never heard of it. Maybe it's a geographical thing?

First I hear of that. I did hear of giving a sympathy card instead of a birthday card when someone reaches 50 though. :p I want to try that one day. LOL

Since when?

At least since the day I was born, that's for sure. When I was going to church when I was younger, there was an entire group of single mothers that the church would give father's day cards to. My mom got them from family and friends too.

Strange, yes. Just another stupid Hallmark Holiday, TBH.

Interesting. I don't recall anyone ever doing that for my mom before she married my stepdad.

I completely agree about it being a Hallmark holiday.
