Oh see if you can get extra fortune cookies.. thanks.

Ah yes.. People like this are the worst. There's always one in the crowd who wants some custom non-standard order, but won't bother going on the trip.

Ugh.. exactly.... If someone just wants a General Tso's with fried rice that's fine, but if I have to write a 200 word document for your order, screw that.

Are you going to Ginger Beef Foody Goody (seriously thats the name of a chinese restaurant in alexandria Va)? If so, beware of the kung pao chicken.

That is why you call the order in ahead of time.
When I would go out for food I would try and ask everyone in the general area if they wanted food from where i was going.

solution:

take everyone's order. go get food for only yourself. bring it back to the office. everyone will see the humor in what you do, but they'll also hate you. they'll never trust you to pick up food for them again.

Better yet, buy them funky dishes like pig's stomach or cow tongue and tell them this was the substitute since their dish was out.

I used to work in a dept that would have lunch brought in every Tuesday during team meetings. It started out as pizza being ordered, but then it turned into subs, chinese, and any other screwed up individual order you could think of. Usually, unless it was a platter of sandwiches or pizza or something like that, there would be a mix-up. "Ok...we're missing 1 general Tso's w/ white rice, 2 egg rolls, and the shrimp with broccolli was supposed to be with freid rice, not white rice."

Meh....

Get me the orange chicken.

Get it yourself.

See how easily you tell perfect strangers over the inet where to go but yet have to backbone to do it IRL?

Some would say people like you are called "e-thugs"

I never minded picking up food for a lot of people... everyone chipped in the cost on the menu.
The Chinese place appreciated the large order so much that they would throw something extra in, and knock a few bucks off the bill. I essentially ate for free when I picked up everyone's lunch.
