Well, if you don't want to increase your carb intake I would stick with water. Really, water and milk and the only two things I think of when mixing protein (who wants to mix chocolate protein with oj?). And, milk has lactose sugars AND it will slow down the absorption of the protein. Which is good for a protein shake during the day or before bed, but bad for a shake after workout.

Um, you're pretty limited if you don't want to increase your carb intake. Juices and milk are your only other options.

Low-carb milk. I buy it at trader joes, it has 1 or 2 carbs per cup. I mix 2 scoups of whey protein with about 1/3 water and 2/3 low carb milk, tastes much better than just using water IMO.

Use water but add some Splenda, makes 100% Optimum Whey taste amazingly good IMO.

what's splenda? yes i'm trying to increase the taste for the protein shake, the ones that come premixed already taste really good, and it's still just about 4-5 g of Carbs which this protein powder is when not mixed. but i have a high tolerance for taste so i think i can endure it when just mixed with water, but yeah i'm still open to other suggestions.

i'm going to look for a trader joes around my area and check up on that low carb milk thing

thx for the feedback folks.

Splenda is a sugar derivative. No calorie sweetener.

It's like Sweet&Low, but way better. It has a super sweet taste to it without tasting fake somehow.

Seems like a mix between pure sugar and powderd sugar, and it mixes with water perfectly.

For God's sake, eat a piece of bread and don't chew with your mouth full. No carb BS has gotten out of hand.

Yes. Same aisle as sugar. Yellow box with blue writing if I remember correctly.

i saw something on google that it is unhealthy....

is that when using a high dose of it?

could i possibly just mix more than one scoop of the whey protein with water in order to get a sweeter taste? i'm a newb to this kind of stuff, i dont want to do something that's not meant to be

unfortunately i eat a lot of pasta, been doing that since i was capable of eating solid food, it didnt have any effect on me in europe until i moved to the US, where i would basicaly drive around everywhere i went, thus a loss in exercise, and i've gained 50 lbs if not more since i moved here, now i'm trying to cut back on the carbs, and it has helped, lost 20 or so lbs doing just that. of course i do go to the gym as well, and to whomever said it's better to use water with the protein powder after working out, thx for that tip, i will keep that in mind.
