Good Linear/Matrix Algebra Book?

The course is taught really badly at my school, and there's no textbook. I often understand better from reading web pages than from listening to lecture. Hell, I get a better understanding from reading my physics textbook.

Are there any books that explain all the fundamental topics well?

What kind of Linear Algebra class is this. Is this an Introductory course and or an Advance course. Do you cover topics like Invariant spaces, SVD, ect.


We used SIAM Applied Linear Algebra Book, which I found decent.

Introductory. First couple of weeks have been dot product, cross product, basic stuff about lines and planes and such. Even those things were made unnecessarily complicated and abstract by the prof.

We used a good book for my Introductory class i thought. I found it easy to understand, but I dont recall the name of the book. The SIAM one is for an advance course.

We used "Elementary Linear Algebra" and I did really well in the course using that book.

Linear Algebra and its Applications by Gilbert Strang is excellent. It helped me a lot since he makes it easy to understand.

Yes its that one, just the 8th edition. Great book.
