So I came into about $500 today on a scratch off ticket and $400 from my BDAY

Im kinda looking for a new monitor for watching movies and playing games and general day to day things. Any reccomendations on a widescreen that is around $700

Dell 2405FPW is about $800, depending on the coupons currently available. The new Gateway 20" widescreen looks very nice, around $600. Then theres the Dell 2005FPW 20" (not as good as specs as the Gateway, no HDCP support, but cheaper) which is around $400 or more, depending coupons.

I watch regular 640x480 TV on my 2005FPW and it looks acceptable at about 6 ft away, normal distance anyway...

dell 2405: 24 inch widescreen, usb card reader (several formats), rca, svideo, component inputs (just make sure you have an external tuner 😉)
good stuff

Get a real LCD TV with a DVI input. Excellent for playing games and watching movies. There are several on sale on Black Friday for $500.
