Hey, I am trying to find a good laptop that meets a few requirements.
1. DVD Rom (regardless of speed)
2. Min of 128 megs of ram
3. 13 inch screen or better
less then $1500

Can anyone recomend a bran/model that meets this and is a reliable computer? I appreciate ALL help. Thanks a lot guys

Hm the budget you have listed is pretty tight.
I do believe there were some AMD based HP's and Compaqs that meet those requirements.

If you find your budget shifts i'd say the IBM i series is fairly dependable. For weight there's the R505 from sony and the X21 thinkpad. but you'd need to give up some on the monitor size and the dvd (i think)

I would be careful of Toshiba. Aren't they laying off 12000 employeees? You could find a nice Dell laptop for your price with everything you wanted. Especially if you got a refurbished Dell.
