I just purchased a Powerbook G4 from Apple, and I would like to have a small, 2 button mouse with a scrollwheel. I saw one a while ago that was metal and small, but I don't know what it was called. Any suggestions for me?

You might consider checking out the logitech mx900 (same as mx700 - but bluetooth). It should work nicely with your g4 as I believe all the new ones have bluetooth standard. Not really sure what to recomend as far as a small one though. That particular model isn't small; however, it's not nearly as big as some of the microsoft explorer mice. BTW... rechargable batteries are very nice in the mx700 and 900 series mice!

Is this for traveling or is your lappy going to stay at home?

I purchased a G4 laptop in the fall. I got the Logitech Trackman Wheel. While I wouldn't call it small, it has the advantage of not having to move since it is a thumb operated trackball. I really like it myself.

I concur about the Logitech cordless notebook mouse as I have one for my laptop and both an MX700 for my desktop. Battery life does not equal that of the MX's but it is small and works perfectly. I use rechargables.

I have fallen in love with the Logitech MX series. Best Buy has a new MX510 that is just a beauty. It has this red "holographic" type etched in pattern that's unique for every mouse. You have to see it to understand. I thought my Intellimouse Explorer had more than enough buttons, but the MX510 adds 3 more. And I found now that I get frustrated with the mice that don't have the extra 3 buttons!

I'll throw my hat into the Logitech ring, have yet to render a Logitech device inoperable in over 6 years of using them.
