Good laptop backpack?

I recently began taking my 600m to class with me for note-taking purposes and let me just say: I wish I had done this for the last four years of college. I am so much more alert and awake when typing notes rather than scrawling them down.

Anyhoo, does anybody have any recommendations on backpacks that double as laptop carrying cases? I need something very durable and high quality since I might get caught in the rain and whatnot and wouldnt want the precious 600m being doused with water.

Anyone?

Costco has a really good one for $25 from Rocky Mountain sports. This backpack could easily go for $55+. It's made with ultra rugged bullet nylon and is VERY attractive to boot. Even has a headphone outlet.

I have a Timberland bag with a laptop pocket. Very nice. It protected my laptop, and was the only bag I had that lasted more than a year. I've actually had it 3 years, now, with no signs of wear to the seams or material.

If I open up my laptop in class, first thing I do is start VPN and jump on the wireless network... hence, I try not to use my notebook in class so that I actually pay attention.

Anyway, I jsut carry it around in a regular backpack. Gets a little scratched, but that doesn't really bother me.

While not a backpack with a laptop holder in it http://www.sfbags.com has some really nice laptop pouches that let you put them in any bag. I keep it in the side pack. Although expensive they are durable and has some nice padding. Not to mention the customer service is top notch.

EDIT: I guess they do have backpacks but they are very expensive. I have one of their sleeve case.

I went nuts and bought the Large Cargo bag from waterfield when I got my powerbook last year. Very nice bag, but a bit pricey to say the least. Great products though, and their customer service is indeed top notch.

I bought a laptop sleeve for mine that should fit in my backpack.

Trager Backpack

Trager sleeve<- what I bought

? Interior lining stops short of the bottom with a generous 2 inches of foam protection
