Hi, looking for a good Keyboard and Mouse combo...

my friend bought a Logitech Freedom Optical... but i saw him having problem sometimes. when playing CS, his mouse is uncontrollable. it spins for 3 seconds and that back to normal...

... everything is cool for this combo...and i like the volume control on the keyboard and shown on the bottom of the screen, TV like.

any other good combo? mostly for gaming...

currently using Logitech i-touch series. (2 years ago.)

thanks

Yeah I agree. Dunno when your friend bought his set-up, but I woulda recommended against it :( I have the Cordless Freedom Optical as well, and although I didn't have any problems with it in games (I did quite well with it actually), it wasn't as good as a corded Optical set-up. For a mouse, I'd recommend the MX500 as Mem stated; if you want to pay a little more (~46 AR at amazon), the MX700 is the way to go. The Elite keyboard is very nice, if you really want to buy a set, the Elite Duo Cordless is the upgraded version of the Cordless Freedom Optical. The main differences are that the keyboard uses only 2 AA batteries and the mouse has a better engine.

so... wired setup has its advantages?

my case is now my mouse is not working...

it is the i-touch combo(keybaord and mouse), so i can't just change the mouse, rite?

I prefer a corded keyboard to a cordless keyboard,no batteries to worry about and the response in general is better, the only decent cordless device for gaming is the MX700 Logitech mouse .

I`ve read(from reviews) the batteries last between 6-12 hrs for heavy user in the MX700,sure you can stick it on recharge etc or have spare battereis charged but it all comes down to how much gaming and how much time you spend on your PC.

With a corded keyboard and mouse you don`t have to worry about batteries or quality of the radio frequency response time etc.
Some people like and prefer the freedom of cordless mouse and keyboard so personal feel and choice comes into play.

Side note: I use the Everglide Mouse bungee,

Review here with stops drag and gives me most of the feel of a cordless mouse when using my corded mouse with it.
