I've been out of the sim loop for a goodly long time, but now it's time for a joystick. I dearly loved those stiff metal thrustmaster's of yor. Where can I get something like that now. Briefly looking at what's out there I defnitely like the Hotas Cougar the best but it's far too expensive and I really only need the joystick half. What other joysticks are out that more or less match that? Force feedback is not necessary, but it must be stiff! I hate flopppy soft joysticks! (hrr, hrr; keep your perverse nef comments to yourself)

I use the MS Precision Pro.

I haven't used it in a while on a new game, since nothing comes out anymore, but I'll treasure it forever.

Saitek has made some excellent and affordable (< $100) HOTAS products like the X36USB and the X45.

Only good if you are running Win98 or WinME. They have STILL *NOT* delivered fully functional drivers under Win2K/WinXP.

I got the X45, though under WinXP hehe. I used the dauzhimmer drivers and they seem to work well with the hazardscript for giving you thrustmaster-like control over button functions. I do like the joystick a lot, just gotta get around a few of these quirks with the drivers and programming. After better looking at everything else that's out there I'm glad I got this one. :)
