I ordered a TV tuner* around this time yesterday from newegg, and it's out for delivery today! 😀
I guess UPS isn't so bad after all. 😛 (it better not be busted :|)
*I'm finally adding DVR functionality to my HTPC, which heretofore has been for emulated games and watching of Divx/Xvid. 😎

<shrug>
I never play new console games anyway so it's not worth the trouble of modding an xbox, IMHO.
Plus, the really sweet thing is, I plan to set it up for the ultimate in laziness: VNC into the box and set up recording each night so I don't have to go downstairs to get a show to watch with breakfast.

A few months back, I placed an order with NewEgg for a spindle of DVD-Rs. Thanks to their New Jersey warehouse location, my order was delivered later on the same day, no more than 10 hours after I had initially placed my order. Needless to say, I was impressed.

Your profile says you're in colorado. I assume that's out of date, but still, :Q

VNC rocks. i tried to setup my HTPC (i dont think the XBOX will last forever, but its still my 'HTPC' of choice), somehow my Sharp Aquos cant see the screen, I went in there via VNC and tweaked my display settings to enable the flat panel connection (something that you cant do with RDP)

Hmm. I was debating wether to just be lazy and use RDP, but I guess making VNC work is worth it.
Actually, what VNC do you reccomend? IIRC, I tried freeVNC last time, and I got it to work, but I remember it being a PITA.

i use the free version of realvnc, i dont have that pc on all the time, and it blocks all incoming traffic except for the RDP and VNC connections.
its the only pc i use realvnc with, its like pcanywhere, slower than RDP, but you get to be on the 'console view'. even mstsc /console doesn't do the trick for display tweaks

thats cuz vnc is open source, i guess different flavors for different people.
