Hi I am looking for a good monitor under $300 for my macbookpro and is easy on the eyes. Mostly for surfing, computer work/reading and light gaming. Any advise on which would be best. I'm looking at the three below. If people have other recommentations that would be great too. Thanks.

1. Samsung 2333T (PVA panel) - $150 at Microcenter
2. LG IPS 236V-PN (E-IPS panel) - $250 at Microcenter
3. Dell U2311H (E-IPS panel) - $250 at Dell

I can only speak for the 2333T, If you value good black levels like me then you'll love this monitor (black level measures 0.04 cd/m2!) It is great for watching movies & surfing the web. Mine came with 0 dead pixels and no backlight bleed.

The only downside is it's probably the slowest of the 3 choices on your list (8ms response plus no overdrive) so gaming will have some motion blur. Although I played through Portal 2 on the 2333T and was very impressed with the contrast & black levels especially in comparison to my PX2370 sitting next to it (TN panel).

The 2333T only comes with a VGA cable, you'll need to get a DVI-D (dual link) cable if you wanna use DVI, But I got one cheap from monoprice.com

Couple pics I took to give an idea on black levels:

Yes PVA has good blacks but that's all it has over the Dell. Dell will be faster thus minimal motion blur when gaming and better viewing angles with no color shift. Although e-IPS used in Dell is not the best it's better than samsung. I personally recommend saving a few more coin for u2410.
