About 3 or 4 years ago, I bought an Apex AD-1500 at Walmart for 30 or 40 bucks. I've watched hundreds of VCDs, SVCDs, listened to MP3s, etc, over the years. I bought a Phillips 642 from my local target so I wanted to sell the AD-1500 and make $15 or something. Here is the auction I posted on ebay:

Ebay Auction

I set the Buy It Now to $70 and it sold in 7 minutes! Why would this thing sell that fast and for so much?

Because people pay too much for anything with an electrical plug on ebay?

Good deal for you:)

I thought you were gonna ask if cheap dvd players were good - for ayone thinking of buying one, a lot still have audio-sync problems if you use the digital sound output. I got one for Christmas and had to return it and buy a better one (hate returning gifts).

Apex is a good brand that can play many formats and can be modified easily to take DVDs from all regions, by any chance does it have Karaoke functions (mic input and volume).

Nope...no karaoke stuff.

The reason I sold it is because I hear so many great things about the Phillips 642 on videohelp.com that I had to get one! And sure enough, the thing rocks. I always read Apex stuff on Nerd-out Apex forums and people are always complaining about the units dying.... sometime after a year, sometimes early, sometimes later, but the capacitors always have problems. I've never had a problem with mine, so I figured it would be best to sell it before it does break.
