It all started yesterday when I got back from a short weekend vacation (a guys' trip, if you will). I was greeted with hugs from the kids, ages 7, 6, and 3, then the six year old proudly proclaims, "Dad, I figured out how to do Google."

Great, I think to myself, this should be fun. "That's, um, cool son. Good going."

Fast forward a few hours. My wife has run to church for a concert, and I'm home with the kids. Dinner has just concluded, and I'm in the kitchen rinsing the dishes for the dishwasher. The kids are watching some cartoons, or so I thought.

I hear the six-year-old giggling, "Sean, I got it!" Sean, the seven year old, starts giggling as well, and I hear him running. I walk over to the six year old at the computer, about to click on the first link on his Google search for "necked girls". Fortunately the page was merely an advertisement for a V-necked sweater modeled by about a 12 year old girl, I had several thoughts running through my head.

"Wow, this is inappropriate! He's only six! And barely even that!"
"Hmmm....I'm actually a bit proud of his self-taught computer skills."
"I'm sure glad 'naked' isn't a first grade spelling word."

Okay, I really don't need content filtering - yet. My wife and I are going to sit down and talk with the kids tonight, and no, we're not going to overreact. The reality is I just wanted to share a cute story with everyone. At least I thought it was cute this time.

Atleast you can be rest assured that he is interested and curious about women.

Cool, of course you know eventually he'd get by any filter, or get very mad at oppresion (if you say locked it to a small network of crappy sites). You can not really stop him but the best solution is having a talk but not being mad or anything...Talking about different uses of the internet?

Introduce him to mmorgs! (Great way to learn how to type and stop spending your time googleing :) lol seriously...My little brother started everquest at 6- And wasn't that bad. He'd need help though)

But yes...This is a cute story :) Necked girls...hehehe...
