Ok, current printer is about to die I think (from my wife - she's going to kill it :) ). She wants a cheap, color printer that works well in Linux.

I had to add windows back on the puter for this very reason. (current printer only does B & W in Linux). Well, that and her scanner (which is going to be replaced as well). Scanner replacement is on it's way. Printer - give me some thoughts here. What works?

Help me get back to a pure linux box :)

from what i've heard, epson totally supports open source, any of their products should work.

then again thats just what i've heard. i dont do much that would warrant a printer so i've never looked into it.

The printer I have, HP Deskjet 932C, works perfectly in Linux although their are no HP drivers for it :p. The built in linux drivers work fine for my printer. And it prints in Color :p.

Epson and HP are both solid for Linux. I would certainly check out the web for compatibility, but unless the model is brand new or very unusual, either of those makes should be fine.
