ANyone know of a good, inexpensive espresso machine for college, I want to make 8~12 cups daily for myself and I want it to be cheap, I won't go higher than $200 if need be. I just want to have some latte every morning and not have to buy it from $tarbukz. thx.

Get the top of the line starbucks machine ($300). If you don't get that it is hard to steam the milk and the shots will be inconsistent at best.

I work at a coffee shop (summer job). The machine we use is $20,000.00 (USD). Really, do you think you can get the same quality out of a $100 machine?

Go with the $300 one or you will regret it later when you go to Starbucks and you have a large paperweight.

8-12 cups or shots?

8-12 cups of espresso a day and you'll have a heart attack soon enough.

Check ubid.com, they have some refurbished espresso machine for around 29-39. And there is another thread for an expresso machine.

hmm, so latte is really bad for your health? I meant 3 cups, my mug can hold 3 cups.

There is no such thing as a good inexpensive esspresso machine. If you really like good coffee, spring for a good one ..Gaggia or Raclia or any Italian Machine. You won't regret it, they last a long time, are economic on coffee and take a min or two to make a cup. I've had mine for 17 yrs and have changed the pump twice at a cost of $75 a pop. How many Mr Coffee's have you gone through in 17 yrs?

edit;
What ever you do...don't buy some POS general electric/Starbucks machine....they don't have good pumps and if you want exquisite coffee, it must be ground powder fine (#1) and a cheap machine will not pump through it.
