Hey guys i am looking at making the best cost/performance computer possible and i am really unsure about what motherboard to buy. What i am asking of you guys is with socket 754mobes' is to see what the highest FSB that they can reach is. so i want you to dissable everything that you don't use, and overclock the thing. turn down mem and HTT deviders and as well as the CPU multiplier. Then post back here with your results.
Ps. please include a brief system setup. IE: motherboard, video card, hard drive and power supply.
Now why i am interested in this part.
I have been looking at the athlon 64 platform for a really long time now, and i have been getting more and more excited about it the more the price drops and overclockability goes up. Now with the introduction of the sempron 2800+ i think that things have finally come together perfectly. this part has an amazing default voltage of 1.4V's, a 90NM core, and reported amazing overclocks because of it. and to top it all of, this part sells for the meager price of $88 from newegg. The only problem is that this chip is stuck with an 8X multiplier. Now this means that i am going to need at least an FSB of 300 to get his part anywhere near it's overclocking potential. So please help me out guys, get it on record what the various socket 754 mobo's can do.
