Good (if any) prepaid cell phone cards in the US?

I'm heading to Boca Raton tomorrow, but then i'll be flying to Vegas on Monday, so i need a cell phone to keep in contact with the office in Boca, as well as possibly with those in Vegas. I have an unlocked V600 phone, so i'll like to just pop in a sim card and go if possible. Do prepaid phone service requires a SSN as well? And which are the best rates?

I'm only going to be in the US for a week, and i plan on to get a more permanent solution when i move down there in March, but for now, i need something prepaid that i can activate immediately.

If your in the City you don't need to worry that much on carrier.
Basically Cingular or Tmobile

Tmobile Prepaid is more preferred. No SSN required. Get the cashier to activate and pay cash

Why is it more preferred? Better prices? I'll compare them on the web now, but roaming and LD charges will be very important to me. Also, can you get data (ie connect my macbook via bluetooth to to do some emails) on prepaid cards?

Holy crap, 1 year expiry on t-mobile prepaid (for the $100 option), and 'Anywhere' minutes sounds like there won't be roaming or LD charges? Is that right?

Dude T-Mobile would probably have a million different activations for local prepaid haha

I'm just not sure on this because this is NOT how it works in Canada. We're anally raped up here on phone services, and without the decency of lubing up first.

Well, T-mobile SUCKS ass. Not only did it fvcking cost $50 for a damn sim card with only 30mins, but i can barely get any signal in Boca Raton. And it's even worst in Las Vegas (where i'm at now). I need to hop on the Cingular network here (Vegas) to make calls.

Everybody in Boca told me to get Cingular, but on Monday, apparently it was some holiday and Cingular was closed, and the only shop that was opened was T-mobile. Man, what a waste.

I see T-mobile hotspots everywhere too, but you can't even use your T-mobile phone account with that?! WTF is that?
