Good Ideas for a Research Project?

Okay, I need to come up with a good idea for my Senior research project. I'd like for it to be about testing certain hardware, but I'm open to any ideas. I thought it would be the best idea to see what the community would like to see done.

This research project will involve 10 weeks of data collection, so I need a decently in-depth experiment. I'll put up the results that I find when it's finished.

High School Senior. It can be quite advanced though, since I goto a specialized math and science high school.
 
A performance comparison of various Linux threading models on various CPUs (trying to keep motherboards as similar as possible). Latency measurements would also be handy.
