Get a 266 fsb mombo, 128cp1200 and for now a Duron 800 OC to 1 gig if it works out. Later another stick of ram and a 1.5 or 2 gig Athlon. Case is a SX1030 good HSF on the cpu. Looking for a way to get the basics now( money is tight) and up grade when the bucks show up again.

Computer manufacturers will always have a new mobo, Vid card, RAM, etc. That's how they make money. If there was an absolute form factor, where you could just upgrade for $50 to a machine that was 3X as fast, they wouldn't make any money now would they. Thus, just buy what you can now. Upgrade the whole thing in a year or two! :)

Ya, you will always be upgrading, its a never ending process, no I am not an addict I SWEAR!! K time to buy a new mobo and chip, jk :) My best advice is go with something solid that will last you a while, but if you are a gamer nothing will last you a while. Remember that you don't need a 1 ghz to use word or go on the net... or do you?
