Good iced tea recipes?

notfred

I have no idea why, but I just got the urge to make my own iced tea. I've never made it before.

Anyone have any good recipes? Something not too sweet.

😕
Bring tea bags/ tea to a boil in a pot of water. Strain into a pitcher, add sugar and water. Put in a cup with ice...................

You plan on using teabags correct notfred?

I guess so. I don't know what type of tewa to buy to make iced tea with, though.

Lipton or Luzianne of course.......😀

Make tea. Add sugar while it's hot so that you can get more in there. (Yeah Southern Sweetened Tea). Add a bit of peach schnapps for flavor. 🙂

Boil favorite tea & a couple slices of ginger, add sugar, and fresh lime/lemon juice to taste, then add ice.

Use whatever your favorite tea is notfred 🙂

For what it's worth, sun-brewed tastes better.

Big jar of water + bunch of tea bags + leave out in the sun all day +refrigerate = awesome tea.

QFT!

Fill 5-gallon clear water jug with water, tie off teabags to taste, cap it and sit it out in the sun all day.

Watch out for the southern sweet tea, I swear it's addicting.

It's addicting but it will make you freaking sick as hell if you drink it for a week straight.

I guess your body finally says "You IDIOT! THAT'S TOO MUCH F'ING SUGAR!"

Great iced tea recipe:

Get a pitcher of water.
Put a lipton cold brew tea bag in it.
Done. 😉

missed an ingredient.

Fresh iced tea brewed propertly from high-quality tea leaves (not bags) tastes remarkably better, imo.

2 teaspoons of tea leaves for every 6-8oz of water, depending on your taste.
175F-203F water depending on the tea for 1-7 minutes, also depending on the tea.
pour over a pitcher of ice.

Done.

I typically use a high-grade Darjeeling for my iced teas, and depending on my mood I might throw in some dried passion fruit, peach, or whatever else I feel like. Ceylon is probably the most popular black tea used for iced tea.
