Good HSF for XP 3000+?

Hi,

I'm about to upgrade my 2100+ to a 3000+ and I was wondering if anyone could point out an adequate HSF to cool it? I was looking at the Zalman CNPS7000 but I don't think my 8RDA3I is compatible. Trying to keep noise to a minimum.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Aren't those both Athlon 64 heatsinks?

Sorry if I didn't clarify, this is for an Athlon XP-M 3000+ Barton.

Not bad then! The problem with the Zalman is that I don't have the mounting holes on my motherboard...

Thanks for the suggestion.

Off topic, but you may wanna check around if you haven't already. Last I heard was that the 3000 mobiles were not a good deal. They didn't reach any higher speeds than the less expensive mobiles. But it's been a while since the subject came up.

That's mainly what I was looking at, Messiah. Just wanted to know if I had missed anything.

Fern, you're right, it isn't that good of a deal ... but I wasn't really planning on overclocking it too much. Just wanted a simple upgrade to use this XMS3200 at 400mhz FSB. I also figured the 3000+ would run cooler at that speed than a 2600+ o/c'd to that would ... but I'm just guessing really.

Thanks for the responses ... I'll probably go with the SI-97 and a Panaflo M1.

Thanks for the link, FrozenCPU rocks, ordered from them a few times. sidewindercomputers.com has a better deal this time around, though ... $36 for the SI-97 and $9 for the Panaflo. 😀
