Anyone can reccomend a good hotel in Atlantic City that won't break the bank? I know the Borgata is nice but rooms run about $400 a night there I believe? I'd appreciate anyone who could give me some information who is a AC expert...

Casino or non-casino? Latter obviously being cheaper. How far, if at all, are you willing to stay off the boardwalk? When are you going to be there?

I used to stay at Sands all the time, it was usually the cheapest casino to stay at but it's closed and they're ripping it down to put another place in. I think we stayed at Showboat about a month or so ago for $100 but that was a discount for having a player card. Going down this Saturday for the Gatti fight but not sure if we're going to stay or drive home at like 5am.

By no means an expert, but I stayed at Ceasars a few times, always like it.
Stayed at Tropicana too, it was okay.

I too used to stay at the Sands cause it was run down and the cheapest, and you could just walk to any casino's on te main strip. I'm 99% sure it's gone now though.

But man the Borgata is nice. Deifnitely go there to gamble. Their poker room is HHUUGGEE.

The Howard Johnson on Route 30 right outside in Absecon is nice. They have whirlpool rooms, its a fairly new hotel, run by a family -- never had any problems.

oh yeah, I've booked rooms using the site below before. I can't remember the name of the place I stayed but it was about 2 blocks off the boardwalk (and actually still in a reasonably nice area) and when we checked in the front desk clerk couldn't believe the rate we had. Said it was the lowest he's seen and almost didn't give us the room because he thought it was an error at first. I've also stayed at Caesars, I really like the casino and hotel though I never seem to win anything there. I think it was about $250 for a Saturday night.
