Minerva, Riot Act, Rock24. Combine Destiny I've read is also very good. You can go to moddb and search for HL2 mods... loads of them there.

The Minerva episodes were some very fine singleplayer.

As for multiplayer, Insurgency is good and very high quality. I think it has the kind of quality that will get the team turned into a studio, or at least some of them hired as developers. It's a tactical shooter based around the insurgency in Iraq, and the next update is supposed to have a new theater. It plays slower, say like the earlier Rainbow Six or a slower paced version of COD4 hardcore mode.

I haven't found the huge number of mods I spent loads of time on like with Quake games and Half-life. But, I figure that is either because I am not into gaming and mods as much or they just don't make 'em like they used to.

Hidden is good, i haven't played it in a while. Last time i played it there weren't many playing it. It's great for a lan party. Also hit up Round robin servers, none of that who kills the hidden gets to be the hidden -_-

It has to be Black Mesa: Source, of course it's not out yet, but from what we've seen so far it's going to kick some serious ass.

I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy it if they don't take some liberties. I've already played HL1 plenty of times, if there's nothing new I don't think it will "kick some serious ass".

The goal is to make Half-Life again under the Source engine, from what we know there will be new sounds, textures and models, but they cannot take too much "liberties", or else you'd better just play Half-Life 2. There has been confirmation that some scripted events have been tangibly modified (we see one of them in the official trailer, and it does look more dramatic than in the original).

I myself would like to see new parts in levels (just larger levels overall), but the team said on many occasions that their goal isn't to create a new game, it's to take Half-Life and re-create it on the Source engine, something some fans expected Valve themselves to do many years ago, and that in my book makes it the best mod for H-L 2, if it wasn't for Black Mesa I'd say it's Garry's Mod, but G-Mod is more like an interactive tool than a mod.

FakeFactory CM version 10 is Beta 2 right now and it can be downloaded, the most notable thing in version 10, out of many changes, is a new color tone and general atmosphere, smaller overall size of the mod, new HD models (as usual with each new versions though) and new music (I think, if I recall correctly).

Links there (just look at the first post): http://www.forum-3dcenter.org/...howthread.php?t=457951

I state again; if its essentially the exact same game, how can it be that much more kick ass? Better graphics won't make the experience that much better unless they somehow take advantage of that (again, by taking liberties and making the enemies harder to see or something). The same goes for the physics side of the engine.
