Good high-end card with video-in?

Hey all,

This is my first post in this forum, so go easy on me.

Anyway, I'm building a new system (AMD Athlon XP 1700+, 512 MB DDR, 140 GB hard drive space) and I need a good graphics card to go with it. I'd like to go with the ATI AIW Radeon 8500DV, but I really don't need the TV tuner support. Is there a good high-end card on the market that supports video-in (what I mainly would want the AIW for) but still delivers 8500- or GeForce2/GeForce3-like graphics? Please advise.

Thanks a ton.

P.S. Cheaper = better.

Thanks FreakyGuy, I'll make sure to check out the ATI AIW Radeon more in-depth. But, the initial 32MB of memory doesn't seem too appealing to me. How does the ATI Radeon 64MB DDR fare around here? I know it does have composite video-in. Any opinions? Other suggestions?

ASUS has GF3TI200 and TI500 series cards with video in. I guess these were V8200 Deluxe models, also bundled with 3d glasses.

I use my 64DDR VIVO for video capture/editing. While it doesn't have the better s-video input of my AIW Radeon, it is a quite capable capture card. I currently use MMC 7.5 and WinXP, sometmes VirtualDub, and the performance is excellent. Gaming is comparable to GTS levels I guess, runs all the current games well.

I'm using a Gainward GF2 Ti500 that I got from Newegg for $129. Works great for composite capture and I get around 10,400 in 3DMark2000. Card runs at 250 core/ 400 memory untweaked but I've got mine at 290/500 and it will go higher :)

I agree, it's a good card, but if you want to go even higher, go with what I've got, a Gainward GF3 Powerpack VIVO Golden Sample card for around $250. Good luck.

Gainward makes a Geforce 3 Ti500 card with ViVo, but I have yet to find a retailer that sells it. Then there's Asus, that also has a Geforce 3 Ti500 card with ViVo, but no DVI out. Has the Radeon 8500 AIW come out yet? Also, the original Gainward Geforce 3 Powerpack has ViVo (non-titanium, Geforce 3 classic) and a lot of places sell this.
