So the company we share an office floor with has an open-family policy, and they bring their kids/wives/kids ' friends to work with them all the time. Can't stand it. Kids constantly screaming, crying, racing their toys up and down the hallways, mothers yelling @ kids. How the hell am I supposed to have a professional work environment with this? WTH is their courtesy for other workers? Do they not realize that there are other comanies on this floor that need quiet?

I've tried shutting my door, but the walls are hardly thick enough to tone out their brats screaming. I've talked to my manager about it, who in turn has talked to property management. PM won't do a damn thing because they rent more space than we do. Freakin' rediculous.

BTW, I can understand if it's a once in a long while kind of thing, but this has been every day for the past two weeks. Kids running around, sometimes in and out of my office chasing toys. :|

It takes a village.

At least that's what all the leftover dried up hippies from the 60's would have us believe.

Kids running around and screaming pisses me off as well. However, the other parents may not have a place to keep them while they work. But then again on the other hand, since they are working it is their responsibility to take care of their children. The debate will never end.

GOOD HELL

I think thats the first time I've heard that combo of words together. The oxymoronousness(?) of it makes my ears tingle ;)

Thats a bad situation in deed. One good thing is you dont have to put up with the smoking like I have to. At least I have my own office but a few doors down its smoke city.

Hm. Glad i live in Utah. Clear Air laws prohibit smoking in any place of business except private clubs.

Leave lots of nice plastic bags strewn around the floor :) make sure they're pretty colors so the kids are attracted to them

fvcking bitches. they have nothing to do all day, since the husband works their asses home, and never any appreciation. To say it best I'll quote Pai Mei from Kill Bill2:
" You are like all other yankee women! All you know how to do is spend your husband's money, and order in restauraunts!"
Since my senior year of high school, I've realized that about 605 of the girls I know are whores and simply will live off somebody else's money and divorce them. Jeez.

Call up child services and tell them to come in and see if it is a safe daycare enviroment (the place probably isnt kid proof). This may take care of your problems.

i wouldn't be surprised if the landlord is suspose to provide a basic level of peace and quiet. check your local code and tell the guy to start enforcing it.

You can actually smoke inside? Where I work they built this really nice outside area on one of the upper floors with benches and everything. But they still make us smoke in the ally by the dumpsters.

they shouldn't belong there. have others who agree w/ you and tell the kids to shut up. If the adults complain, you have a completely legitimate argument to talk back to them
