Good heatsink/fan

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a heatsink and fan to use with the Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 LGA 775 Processor. I have been looking around on newegg and I am not really sure what I should get. So, if anyone has any recommendations... I was looking for something moderately priced but efficient, I was going to go with the Artic Cool Freezer 7 but I am kinda iffy over the price. 40 bucks for a heatsink seems like a lot. Thoughts and comments are appreciated 🙂

Go with a Thermalright Ultra 120+/120 or Scythe Infinity, Tuniq Tower, etc. Those tower coolers are really as good as they get and are probably worth the $50-$60. Then again, if you look hard enough you may be able to find them for <$40 used 😛

I have the Thermalright Ultra 120. It's a great cooler. It blows the hot air straight up toward the PSU instead of toward the mobo. Looks really nice with a blue LED fan on it, too.

I ended up going with the Freezer 7. That thing is nice. CPU runs at 81 degrees and only goes up to 10 to 15 degrees or so under really heavy load and thats with it OCed from 2.4 to 2.8 😀

nothing wrong with any of those choices....the Freezer 7 is and has been a solid performer even though I would personally think its is close but not quite a teir 1 heatsink!!

Good product though!!
