good heaphones?

don't have these, but my HD-497 costs $30 and it kicks ass.

also consider the sony v6 and grado SR-80 at this price range. maybe if you're lucky, an AKG M240.

They're okay, but you can do better for the price. The best thing about them is the mind-boggling isolation; put them on and it'll be hard for you to hear the outside world (hard to hear the lawn mower when mowing the lawn, people talking to you, etc etc.). Sound quality is okay but the bass is very, very weak.

I have them and like them.

If you want closed headphones they're one of the better options.

Try to see if you can get to try a pair in a store or something first as their size and feel is not for everyone.

I have a pair that I use for home recording. They're very good for isolation as mentioned above, but not that comfortable (they squeeze pretty tightly) and the sound is just OK IMO.

If you'd like to get more into your music and like bass (i.e. are a rock and techno fan instead of a classical and "light music" fan), you'd do much better with AKG K81DJs. There's a HUGE thread at Head-Fi about them, and many people love them. They do have a deathgrip, though, so if you have a big head prepare to have to fiddle around with them (bending the headband - there's info in the thread about this).
