well my refurbished 74 gig raptor went bad so I need a new HD. mostly I use the rig for gaming but I like have 74 gigs +. anyone have any ideas on what I should grab? price range isn't a huge issue but nothing crazy that I won't ever need (like 300 gigs 10krpm)

I'd suggest the Raptor 150Gig - I'm planning to get one soon myself. The speed is excellent (even better than the 74 gig raptor), and it has an even more comfortable capacity.

so stick with raptor?

is 150 really much faster? I don't think I really need that much space but if it is vastly improved I would upgrade from the 74 to the 150. any more ideas?

All Raptors are overpriced for the performance increase you might get. I would buy a minimal of a 150GB drive based on your current usage. I prefer seagate and western digital but everyone has their own opinion.
