I believe that they have some B-1 at Davis Monthan in long term storage. So if necessary they could activate one of those air frames.

Yeah, it can fly mach 1.25 at 50,000 feet.

62.5 ton payload for the B-1, 25 ton for the B-2, so that's not nothing, but I think the bigger reason is that there are a lot more B-1 airframes than B-2.
