Good god...what the hell just happened

I've had this happen before in my local BestBuy parking lot, which is another reason I don't go there anymore. A girl, this one decent looking, not super hot, but I've seen alot worse, approached me. She wasn't AS tenacious as some others that have approached me before from other places. I actually happened to have $40 on me, cash and paid for it. I was a little worried I got scammed and wouldn't see the magazines, but they came for 1 year. Still got them. She got no other info off me but my initials and a spare PO Box I have to send the mags to. Wasn't too bad a transaction and I guess it helped her out.

Thinking back, although I got lucky and didn't get scammed, I'd probably not do it again. The risk was definately not worth it.

I've certianly had girls, less then good looking, selling crap like this in parking lots do crap like this to me too. Try just about every feminine wile they can to get me to hand over my money. Maybe if they offered a hummer instead I'd be more inclined to part with what was in my wallet.
 
those magazine people are usually scams, especailly if they as for cash or insist that you write one check per subscription.

They press for cash because checks have to go back to HQ to be processed, and they still need to pay hotel costs, gas, etc.
 
The same thing happened to me in Best Buy parking lot too. She told me she'd be my best friend if I signed up for some magazines and began touching me in a very uncomfortable way ( I need an adult! I need an adult! ). I told I had no cash and she offered to get in my car and drive with me to the ATM. WTF.

Edit: Forgot to say I haven't been harassed by the magazine weirdos, but I have been hit up by the white-van-speaker guys in my work parking lot, no less! Cheeky buggers.
 
Same thing happened to me in the parking lot at frys, she commented on my bumper sticker (anti bush) and small talked and asked for me to take her out to lunch. She was pretty cute and stacked like a porn star. I had heard about these chicks in parking lots selling magazines though, so i made up some shiat and gtfo of there.
