What are good games for kids? (especially 6 year old kids)

Games he likes right now are: NHL2001, FIFA2001, Tony Hawks 2,...
(No he is NOT allowed to play Quake3, Unreal and so on)

Also, are there any good web site for kids with games or activites?

TIA

See if he likes adventure games. That is how I first got into computer games at the age of ~10. Space Quest I was my first game. Adventure games are good for problem solving and don't just test the twitch factor :)

I love The Longest Journey but it has an R rating. You could try a Monkey Island game... if you have an old computer lying around try getting some of the older Kings Quest, and Space Quest games.

Yes, adventure games are great. I learned English by playing adventure and roleplaying games and by using the Internet (I am German).
But he is only 6 and can't read that good yet. What would be the easiest adventure games?

I am also still looking for great web site for kids. Please, please, please.

Perhaps he might like strategy? I have found kids that love Sim City! The don't really play it to build an awesome city but they can do some creative things with it...

Thanks. SimCity might be a really good idea. I will try that.
(He is always enjoying watching me play real-time strategy games)

If you want to get him started on a non-violent FPS then Nerf Arena Blast is pretty sweet. Hell, I'm 28 and I thought it was fun! Only prob is you're going to be hard pressed to find online opponents any more as it is an older game, but single player isn't too bad.

Or Disney has that new Atlantis game out. Might be worth a shot.

*edit - just noticed the sim thing above....perhaps roller coaster tycoon? He gets to build his own roller coasters and try and run a theme park....

Leisure Suit Larry! I played that when I was a kid. LOL, just kidding. But I actually did. Anyways, take them into a big computer store, best buy, CompUSA, etc, let them pick it out. Good luck

Other games:

Transport Tycoon--kinda old now, but a lot of fun
Rollercoaster Tycoon
Civilization 2--still the best turn based strategy game ever. It's kinda difficult, but it has a number of different skill levels that ease new players into it. In this same genre I would highly suggest not to get Civilization Call to Power or it's "2" version. Both of those sucked hard.
