Good friend's mom basically breaks neck. He doesn't tell me!

My next door neighbor whom i've been friends with for about 13 years and spoken to on 3 occasions this week (one for an hour) failed to tell me that his mom fell down a flight of stairs on the weekend and broke two vertebrae. She was in surgery today. She isn't paralized but her arms are numb and now they're putting some metal rods into her neck/spine.

I only found out cause my father happened to see my friend's dad and asked how things were going and then my friends dad told my dad.

Thats just frigging weird!

I guess that was it - but he seemed in good spirits this week. Looking back I can't pick up that he was even thinking about it. I guess he must have been but he sure hid it from me! Yesterday he was happy cause he picked up his new computer and was going out to buy a game.

I dunno how she is - went into surgery. Her husband did not throw her down the stairs or beat her. Damn!
