Has anyone had good experience with free usenet accounts. My ISP does not offer newsgroup service, but I do not use the service so often to justify paying for it.

Email-client (such as Outlook Express)-accessible service would be preferable. I have used mailandnews.com, but I really hate the web interface for the newsgroups.

A google search turned up Teranews for me, which offers a free acct, but still requires a credit card (to prove age). I would still prefer not to give out my card, if possible.

Any suggestions?
Thanks alot.

IF you're just going to be reading news, here is a list of free news servers..

If you want to download binaries, then you have no choice but to find a pay server. I highly recommend Giganews.com. They're pricey but FAST and definitely the most reliable I've tried (and believe me, I've tried a lot!!). Excellent uptime, completion, and propagation.
