I have been using the free version of RealVNC for a few months now and it has usually allowed me to connect fine to other users' PCs over broadband. Sometimes, like today, I cannot establish a connection. I instruct the other person to download the software and turn off the authentication, I then tell them to go to a site like www.whatismyip.com and give me the IP address. Today, I could ping the address but I could not connect. I have a cable connection behind a Linksys WRT54G router and the other user had a direct connection to DSL from the modem. All firewall software was disabled and it would not connect. My question is: What is a good and free remote access software package? Also, what are the steps to go through to configure it properly? Finally, what if I needed to connect to a home or business that had 2+ computers behind a router. How would I determine which system I wanted to connect to? I came across the UltraVNC software as well as the site logmein.com. The UltraVNC seems like it could work and the logmein.com is a pay site for additional users and seems very cumbersome. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Al
