good forums or info sites for S14 240sx?

I've been interested in getting a nissan 240SX S14 kouki. looking for one with a sr20det.

anyone owned 240sx before? any good resource site? anything in particular I should look out for?

SR20DET swaps. They're so straightforward to do that all you need is a good set of tools and a cherry picker. This of course means that any monkey who ends up with a 240sx and an SR20 of any kind will likely "finesse" in the motor, possibly skipping steps or ignoring they're getting a motor with worn bearings from a japanese J/Y. Also the 240sx is a great entry-level drifting platform, which means that teenagers buy and beat these cars. Have fun!

(I wanna get one some day too OP, just stating the sad truth.)
 
Don't overlook a turbo KA setup either. Parts are cheap and for the money invested in getting a stock SR swapped in you can have a KA with a fully built bottom end putting 300+ to the wheels. Oh and the torque 🙂

Yeah it would be hard to find an unmolested 240sx. I guess researching about the engine chassis would be the easy part.

regarding the smog, I though swap engines are okay as long as the emission pass? I'll read up on that as well.
 
A 240sx with an SR20DET swap will probably have been beaten on more than any other car imaginable. Is it really worth the risk to have sex with the known sluttiest girl on campus??

The KA24DE is an iron block so I would think it would hold up well to a turbo

It won't pass as its not a CARB certified engine you are putting in. To pass, you will need to register in a smog free county or have a shady guy smog your car with cash in hand.

Every 2yrs you smog.
