Could anyone recommend a messageboard or forum community for Audigy2? I'm having some stuttering(skipping) on audio playback, and its kind of annoying. Didn't happen on my crappy old SB128, hah.

Thanks

Search for "Audigy2 problems stuttering" on google or your favorite search engine. Out of the 10,000,000 messages it finds, I am sure there will be one or two that help you out.

That search provided nothing of substance, much like your post.

Still slow going trying to find a good forum.

Thanks for the suggestion, holden, but I don't see that 3dSS forums are all that populated (although I've posted there in the futile hope =)

What mobo?? Details. We need details. Did you uninstall the old SB drivers before you moved up??

Here are my details.

I'm running dual AMD 1800+ MP on a ASUS A7M266-D mobo.
400 watt antec psu
Radeon 9700 pro
Audigy2 in my lowest pci slot (farthest from the R9700).

Also, I JUST reformatted earlier today to see if it fixed it. No dice.
I installed the drivers from the audigy2 installation cd and then I went to the creative labs auto updater and updated all of the drivers through the automatic program.

Here are the forums I go to when I have questions or problems, which I don't anymore. It is the European site but it is much better than the Americas in my opinion. The techs from Creative read the messages and try to help out when they can. Look under Audigy Discussion. Select UK as your country.

Your problem is the dual CPUs. None of the SBLives, or Audigy 1 or 2, can really handle an SMP system properly. Take out 1 CPU and your problems will be gone...;)

I had a SBLive! Value for a brief period of time and I had no problem with this setup.

Try turning off "spread spectum modulation" in your BIOS. That cured 95% of my skipping problems.

There are known issues with Creative Audigy/2 cards with SMP systems. Some people experience problems, some dont. Try moving the card to the 4th PCI slot this often fixed stuttering problems people were having with Audigy cards.
