Good flight prices from IND to LAX

Hey all! I'm looking to go to L.A. in Feb. and I'm wanting to get a good deal. Does Orbitz, Travelocity, PriceLine, etc. actually have the advantage or am I better off just going directly to the airline's website? If so, what's a good airline to use for travel? Thanks for the help ATOT!

Edit: If it's any help, i'd like to leave on Feb 9 and return on Feb 15.

You might consider a drive down to CVG or SDF or even up to Chicago. A bit of cash for gas and parking may get you a cheaper fare.

Edit: Oh...you're further north of Indy...Cincy or Louisville would be a good haul for you.

1. use a travel site to find the convenient cheap airlines for your desired route
2. go directly to airline sites and buy tickets to save $$
3...
4. Profit!

Yeah...I'd really like to take off from Indy if at all possible and (of course) arrive at LAX. Just a n00b to this sort of thing and want to make sure that I don't get hosed in the process.

Schweet! I didn't know what the going rate was for a ticket so I'll probably go with that. Did you find that directly through NWA's site?

Edit: Any other feedback is also appreciated! 🙂

Goto NWA.com, book flights 205/206 on those days, its first in the list of results. Only direct flight, and a GREAT price.

Oh hell yes! I forgot all about that! 🙂

I used hotwire last year to buy my tickets to London. I got a really good deal on them. That was the lowest place I found anything at the time.

AFAIK your only choice for direct flights is Northwest...
Last time I looked, ATA had a direct flight into LAX (except it's a red-eye). Of course, that was over a year ago.

yes, ATA still has one direct flight from indy to LAX a day. and yes, it is a redeye coming back for those dates. the price is good though at $178.40. there are better times but with a short layover at MDW.

Yes, but ATA is a bankrupt LCC with LCC cabin service and horrible times for their only direct flights. In this case, NW was the better option, and their prices were exactly the same.

Although, I probably would've flown ATA just to fly the 757 😀
