good finance book?

I'm taking an IT internship with a financial firm and would like to learn as much as I can beforehand. Anyone know good intro to finance books? Something that will teach me about equities, derivatives, etc. just looking for something to get me started

Since you do IT, you should be pretty smart and pick things up quickly.

Another good book (and I like this much more than Investments, but its probably at a higher level) is

I've used both these books in my university coursework studies for my Finance major. I work in a financial firm as well. My only concern is they may be slightly advanced, but I don't know any intro books sorry

Are both of these books based around theory and concepts or financial formula? I've had a finance class before, but learned absolutely nothing because I was busy trying to memorize NPV formulas and all kinds of other stuff.

Also, maybe I should clarify that this is an investment bank. So, any material on that would be helpful as well

Second on the BKM textbook, that's what we had in Grad school. Pretty much standard.

Get one of Robert Bogle's books, it'll show you how a huge portion of the retail "financial serivices" sector is a scam.
