I'm surprised there wasn't a thread on this... it was a big event for Strikeforce and thought it would even be more popular now with Zuffa ownership.

Here was the main card results:

Welterweight Championship bout: Nick Diaz (c) vs. Paul Daley
Diaz defeated Daley via TKO (punches) at 4:57 of round 1 to retain the Strikeforce welterweight championship.

Lightweight Championship bout: Gilbert Melendez (c) vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri
Melendez defeated Kawajiri via TKO (strikes) at 3:14 of round 1 to remain the Strikeforce lightweight champion.

Light Heavyweight bout: Gegard Mousasi vs. Keith Jardine
Mousasi and Jardine fought to a majority draw (29–27, 28–28, 28–28). Mousasi was deducted one point in round 1 for an illegal upkick.

Lightweight bout: Japan Shinya Aoki vs. United States Lyle Beerbohm
Aoki defeated Beerbohm via submission (neck crank) at 1:33 of round 1.

Man I thought, and hoped, Daley was going to knock out that stupid Nick Diaz. I know he was known for his chin and standing with anyone, but I didn't think he could handle the bombs from Daley, but he pretty much did! Especially after the Daley vs Kampmann fight, where Kampmann is a good boxer with a great chin and he stood in front of Daley but got rocked. I know it got stopped with Kampmann on his feet but he was pretty rocked.

I think even if Daley made it those few more seconds, he would have gotten stopped in the 2nd.

I figured Melendez would win pretty decisively so no surprise there. I knew Aoki would probably submit him but I didn't think he'd do it so easily. As for Jardine-Mousasi, well I didn't give Jardine much of a chance at all. But during the 2nd round, where Mousasi was clearly winning, and I expected the same in the 3rd, I thought this very well could go to a decision. You could say Jardine won the 1st due to takedowns (even though he didn't do ANYTHING with them) and with the 1 point deduction, that's 28-28! Mousasi/his corner should have pushed him before the 3rd to end it.
