I am looking for a nice fan controller/lcd temp display for my TT Tsunami case. I came across the cooler master aerogate II and III. Are these any good. They are almost about the same price. I don't know if the aerogate II will fit in my case with the door closed but the aerogate III should. Is this a good buy or are these better products for cheaper(these go for around $40).

I can't provide any info about the Aerogate III, and I assume that CoolerMaster, just like every other company, strives to improve the next model based on their experiences with the earlier one.

The Aerogate II that I have seems to have one channel which fluctuates. The other channels seem steadier. I find that the adjustment mechanism doesn't allow you to just "find" the rpms you want and hold the fan there -- some fans (or channels) "prefer" some rpm settings better than others.

I bought the Aerogate because of its temperature and speed monitoring capability, hoping that the wattage-capacity-per-channel (I think it is either 15W or 18W) would be more than sufficient. It should be more than sufficient, but I find the "controller" function of the device lacking as I explained above.

I have another controller with no monitoring capability, a beefy capacity for 24W per channel, precision knobs and "mood-ring" LEDs which change color (two colors only) with RPMs. This is the Sunbeam Rheobus, and I got it for the ridiculously low sale-price of $15 last summer. I cannot find them now at my favorite web-resellers. One thing for sure -- with the Rheobus, you can "set it . . . . and forget it."

Take a look at the Silverstone Eudemon. It is programmable. Some of the ThermalTake-Hardcano and CoolerMaster-Aerogate recent entries (Aerogate III?) boast some programmability, but I've heard more definitively positive things about the Eudemon.
