Good external HD enclosures?

I need an external HD solution for my Macbook Pro, but it seems that there have been many problems for people with WD MyBooks and Seagate FreeAgents. I figured that I'd go for an external enclosure with this Samsung drive:

I figure that the 3-yr warranty will hold better than a 1-yr warranty with a MyBook or FreeAgent.

I was wondering what the best enclosure would be to use that has both eSATA/USB2.0? I've looked at many enclosures from Icy Dock and Vantec, but it seems their eSATA doesn't work well or the drive has to be jumpered down to SATA 1.5.

Either way, any suggestions for enclosures would be greatly appreciated. :)

A friend of mine uses a MacBook and PC's.
He's crazy about his WD My Book Studio Edition.
With USB 2.0, eSATA, Firewire 400 & 800, he's got fast interfaces for connection to anything.

I tried to track him down an external enclosure with the interfaces he wanted and a solid 500GB HD. The price ended up coming pretty close to the My Book anyway.

Sour,

Why not just get an eSATA enclosure? 3-4 times faster than USB... I have 2 Kingwins, here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817121019 No on-board cooling, but I only turn on when I use. You can get better (more expensive ones) with fans, but these work fine. If you absolutely need USB also, buy it as a separate, or check out all of them on Newegg.

PS, that Antec IS nice!

Another vote here for the Antec MX-1 enclosure.

Nice design, simple assembly, excellent ACTIVE cooling, and both USB and eSATA connection options. Not to mention it includes both types of cables !

I've had some other nice enclosures (Venus, etc.), but no others I know of measure up to the MX-1 IMHO.
