Good explantion of java website?

I am trying to learn java and was wondering if anyone knew a good stie that might explain the terms, setup and language. This prolly isn't worded right as i know nothing of java.

if you know anything important that is basic and you want to write that down thats cool too.

BTW: Java programing not java html stuff at this point but both are welcome.
 
Buy a beginning java book. I have Mastering Java 1.2 from Sybex and it was a good beginners book. I also have the Java SDK documentation in HTML on my machine which I use as a refresher. A good website to visit is the Java Developers Connection which has lots of info and a tutorials section on the left side bar.
 
i find the tutorials section on java.sun.com very very helpful.
as is the discussion board. try those.
