I purchased an album from the amazon mp3 store ($9.99) and it let me finish downloading it. A few minutes later, I realized my "1-click" settings still had a credit card on file that I had closed. I emailed support to let them know that the pending order would not go through and told them to go ahead and charge my alternate credit card on file. A few hours later, I received an automatic message saying my payment was declined and my order cancelled (but I already had the DRM-free mp3s). Two more hours later, someone responded to my support email saying they would not charge my alternate card and I could keep the album as a gift.

I thought that was a very nice gesture from amazon...unexpected, at the very least.

Amazon provides great customer service, at least for now. Hopefully they keep providing quality products, low prices and customer service but business is always going to be competitive. Mickey Ds used to be cheap and good, now its pretty expensive IMHO.

I remember the days when every combo at McDonald's was $2.99. Long before the Supersizing and other crap. Hell, back in '92 they were promoting USA Basketball. I can remember how hard it was to come across a Jordan card then. I doubt those cards are worth anything now-a-days.
