Hi,
Whats a good and preferably cheap temp monitoring device that can send messages and maybe show graphs of the temp inside a server room?

what kind of servers are you running? if they are linux based maybe you can just run GKrellm on them to report their activity and status.

Czar,

My work just implemented a system from Netbotz. So far we really like it. Unfortunately I wasn't involved in the actual deployment so I can't give too much advise. It seems to "work" though ;) We've setup our own custom web page that shows a floorplan of our room with little squares for each sensor. The page refreshes periodically and the squares will change colors (via simple CSS) depending on their current readings. Each square also hyperlinks to details about each reading. It's a pretty slick system although from what I understand, you can go wild buying all the different sensors!

Good luck :)

AWhackWhiteBoy,
we have a few windows servers that can do that, just normal temp monitoring software but I would prefer something third party

Xtremist,
sweet :D
I love the idea behind the netbotz, just add more stuff to dit and it grows not like it usualy is, for small size business buy product x10 and for more performance by product y10 and so on and so on
could you post or send me a screenshot of that system, I would love to show it to my boss

This just begs the question, when the server room was built, wasn't this included?
We had a server room built a few years back, and environmental monitoring(smoke, temp, moisture) was part of the deal.
